The Women of Faith unit is group of women that meet twice a year to serve the Lord with a focus on missions. There are two smaller groups that make up the unit - Minnie Ware and Alice Beusse. The two smaller groups meet September - April once a month. The unit meets twice a year in May and December.
The Methodist Men’s group meets on the first Sunday morning of the month at 9:00 A.M., following our monthly breakfast at 8:30 A.M., which is open to everyone. They meet starting the month of September through May. The Men’s group takes on many service projects throughout the year and are focused on building up men of God.
Sunday school classes are offered for all ages. There are classes for children and adults. There is a place for everyone. Sunday school starts at 10. Classes have singing, Bible study, prayer, and fellowship.
Music has always played a big part in the heritage of Mt. Zion. Mt. Zion has been referred to as "the singing church" and we love to make a joyful noise to the Lord at any gathering. We offer a Children's Choir for ages five to 12 where the children learn praise and contemporary music and sing in worship services four or five times during the school year. The Children's Choir also joins with the Chancel Choir for many Christmas and Easter cantatas. Practice is on Sunday mornings at 10:00 A.M. during the school year, right before Sunday School.
The Chancel Choir is made up of adults 18 and up who love to praise God through choral music. The choir performs a wide range of music - something for everybody - including traditional, contemporary, gospel, and spirituals. You don't need to read music or have a great voice to be a part of this fun group. We practice on Sunday mornings at 9:00 A.M. and sing at almost every Sunday morning worship service.
